Curtiba Tanning Industry

In recent years, we have to be proud of being one of the important cogs that make up the tanning district of Santa Croce sull'Arno, in the province of Pisa. A focal, strategic production sector, to which the great international brands turn to find the raw materials that give life to their precious collections.

This is the story of the Curtiba Tannery, founded in 1997 and immediately specialized in the production of leather by vegetable tanning.

Later, with the evolution of the market, the Curtiba tannery decided to adapt and differentiate its product, starting to make chrome-tanned half calves. Tumbled, natural pre-printed articles with a light specific weight: Curtiba leathers are intended almost exclusively for luxury leather goods, distinguishing themselves for their unique and immediately recognizable characteristics.

Within the operational plant of the company in Santa Croce sull'Arno, about twenty specialized employees work, thanks to which all the production process takes place internally.

In the last two years, in conjunction with the highest peak of the economic crisis that has affected all sectors of our country, Curtiba has relaunched the challenge to equip itself even better in view of the recovery. In particular, huge investments have been made to strengthen the company's research and development department, in order to enrich and differentiate the product lines to be offered to customers.

The company's growth also involved the machinery, the purchase of new drums to optimize the production process and the setting up of a new and even more efficient leather finishing department.
